Earlier this month, we kicked of our 2023 season with the Mugello Classic. With the Tuscan hills as a backdrop and none of the modern run-off areas, the classic vibe of the Mugello circuit was a perfect match for a historic racing meeting. Staged by Peter Auto, the Mugello Classic featured the familiar nine grids. As a result, the sports prototypes, GT racers and touring cars from a sixty-year period to the undulating Italian track. Among the many great cars out on track were quite a few that were new to the series like a 2009 Chevrolet Corvette C6.R, a Nissan R91CP that had been a museum piece since its retirement in 1992 and a pair of Porsche 935s that had spent their entire lives in North America.
The non-stop action included some absolutely great races with the fight for victory in the two-hour Sixties' Endurance race as one of the absolute highlights. All this, and much more, can be found in our concise report, which is illustrated by a class-by-class 200-shot gallery.
