Page 1 of 1 With the introduction of the A MG finally dropped the T series which was still based on a pre-war design. The A proved an immediate success and influenced upcoming British sports cars for years to come. The first cars were equipped with 1500 cc engines and by 1959 1600 cc engines were used. More powerful twin cam engines were tried as well but they proved very unreliable and that hampered sales. The MG A was replaced by the MG B in 1962.
