It is based on Volvo's large car platform and thus shares many parts with the V70. Available for the XC90 will be number of petrol engines with the T6 engine as most powerful varhant and the recently introduced D5 diesel engine. The XC90 is ofcourse fitted with permanent four wheel drive. Furthermore it showcases a range of technologically advanced solutions in the important areas of roll-over protection and compatibility with smaller cars in the event of an accident.
