Click here to download printer friendly versionIn January 1930 Cadillac launched the first ever V16 production car, in August of the same year they added a V12 engined car to their line-up. The V12 engine was based on the V16 and it shared the same cylinder angle. Cadillac tried to keep the engine bay of both as clean as possible, all wires and plumbing was not visible when the hood was opened.

The V12 and V16 cars were in production until 1937 and built in very small numbers as the Depression downsized the market for these super-luxury cars. This Fleetwood bodied V12 is seen here at the 2002 Retromobile Paris show.
