Page 1 of 1 At the 2002 New York motorshow Land Rover introduced a face-lifted Discovery with lineage to the Range Rover. The Discovery also boasts a revised interior with two all-new trim materials, a number of significant technical enhancements and a more powerful V8 engine. Like the Range Rover, the Discovery is instantly recognizable by its Land Rover 'family face', dominated by twin pocket headlamps providing improved lighting as well as a distinctive look. A new grill and a new front bumper with round fog lamps complement the new headlamp arrangement. There are also visual changes at the rear with revised taillights. The turn indicators have been relocated to the upper vertical light cluster for better visibility to following traffic. The Discovery retains its four-wheel Electronic Traction Control (ETC) and the Hill Descent Control (HDC) system and also features a number of braking and chassis improvements to further enhance on-road handling. The front and rear disc brakes have improved pads and calipers, while the suspension has revised locations for greater refinement. These improvements can be combined with Discovery's well-proven dynamic control systems of Active Cornering Enhancement (ACE) and Self Leveling Suspension (SLS). The ACE system minimizes roll through bends while the air-sprung SLS system retains a level stance under all load combinations. This combination, allied with wide track axles and revised suspension set-up gives the Discovery handling and passenger comfort unrivalled in its class. Four-channel ABS braking with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) is fitted as standard. Page 1 of 1
