Page 1 of 1 The final incarnation of a British Motoring icon is the Mk III version of the Austin Healey 3000. The 3000 had replaced the Austin Healey 100/6 in 1959 and soon got the nickname 'Big Healey' because of the large six cylinder engine under its hood. The Big Healey evolved throughout the sixties with the Mk II with three Carburetors as the second model.
The United States was Austin Healey's largest market. In 1968 it had become to expensive to adapt the 3000 to the strict emision regulations in the US and production seized.
This 3000 Mk III is seen here on the Dutch Zandvoort circuit where it celebrated the 50th anniversary of Austin Healey. Page 1 of 1
