Page 1 of 1 In the late 1920s and early 1930s the Packards were the crème de la crème of the automotive industry both in style and in price. The recession of 1933 was understandebly a big blow for the Detroit based firm.
To attract a broader audience Packard decided to build some less expensive models. One of these models was the 120, introduced in 1935 it was the 'cheapest' Packard ever. It still feature the straight eight engine found in the more expensive models but was the first Packard to be equipped with independent front suspension.
This long wheel base 120 is fitted with a Coupe Chauffeur style body designed by the Paris-based Franay. It was in there, at the 2002 Louis Vuitton Concours d'Elegance in the city of lights, where it was shown to the public. Page 1 of 1
