The 407 Elixir is an original concept car full of styling innovations and outstanding engineering that gives visitors to the show a glimpse of how future Peugeot models might look. The styling is both dynamic and elegant with an appreciably long front end and elegant rear proportions.
Thanks to a combination of pure, clean lines, the body has 'fluid' design that combines a very steeply inclined windscreen with a glass roof - a feature now synonymous with the Peugeot brand. At the front a wide 'mouth' is surrounded by chrome-plated beading and beautifully integrated headlamps.
At the back, the dynamic design is enhanced by twin exhausts, LED-type rear lights and an opening rear window accommodated in a relatively upright tailgate.
The 407 Elixir is designed to seat four people in comfort. The doors open to reveal an interior with no partition or rear parcel shelf, housing four identical, adjustable seats. The 407 Elixir is welcoming and user-friendly with 'dual zone' automatic air conditioning and satellite navigation displayed on a 7 inch, 16/9 colour screen.
The bright passenger compartment features impressive materials and light, high quality leather. This is bordered at the top by aluminium inserts that run the length of the interior as far as each end of the fascia panel. The 407 Elixir has pre-tensioning seatbelts with a seatbelt-not-fastened indicator for each of the four seats. Passengers are protected by nine airbags, one of which - incorporated in the steering column - protects the driver's knees.

"Being a die-hard of peugeot, I can't fail to comment on this new magnificent piece they,ve brought forth. Its outstanding. ""Just step on my accelerator and I'll show you what I've got"". That's what its telling me. For peugeot, they are doing great at the moment but we need you guys to make a hard car for us once more. The 504 will never be forgotten here in Kenya. The production ended June last year and Africa needs hard cars like the 504. Do something with the 50X range."

i just saw the pictures of the 2004 peugeot 407 & 407SW. it is based on this concept. the front is the same but the saloon & SW have different rears. to me this concept has an ugly front but it looks better on the saloon.the headlights have a nice shape but look as if they were spread on the bonnet. the sleek side lines & futuristic sloping rear along with the unique c-pillars are nice.in the concept the front doesnt match the sleek rear so it looks a little wierd. the interior is fresh & roomy. peugeot have always followed their own lead & made some great cars & unusual concepts [good & bad] & this car is no exception.
Peugeot for the USA ?

Peugeot's designers know the brand's roots well. Low slung and aggressive. That's Peugeot for us all! And they can't stop making it better all the time. It's almost amazing how a successful basic shape could be warped into so many beauties and still remain iconically recognisable. This Peugeot actually looks very American too! Perhaps a deliberate move to start stirring some interest in the market? After all, the French maker's intentions have been known for quite awhile. If it is, they are right on track.
