Page 1 of 1 Further to the unveiling of New Colt on January 26th 2004, Mitsubishi Motors gave a hint at a future development of its Colt line-up through the Colt CZ3 concept, presented officially at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. Based on the same NCC platform, Colt CZ3 bridges the gap between the 2001 CZ2 concept and the New Colt Hatchback, with a sportier and muscled-up coupé body style.
With its unique exterior panels (except for the hood and front fenders), faster windshield (26°), lower roofline, more sculptured body section, wide sills, longer doors, teardrop rear quarter windows, large airfoil and sports antenna, Colt CZ3 represents a more dynamic expression of New Colt's One-Motion design theme. More so, when resplendent in metallic Tarmac Red, with full black privacy glass.
At 3,81 m (6 cm shorter than the Hatchback), Colt CZ3 appears visually even more sure-footed than the 5-door hatchback, thanks to the same class-leading 2500 mm wheelbase and wide tracks, combined with an even shorter rear overhang and unique 17 inch Okazaki alloy wheels.
At the rear, Colt CZ3 refers directly the CZ2 concept with the same rounded and faster tail, split horizontal combination lamps, slanted character lines on either side and Three-Diamond logo mounted on a spine, echoing the one at the front of the car. Front end treatment is also a clear reference to CZ2 (grille, fascia,...) Page 1 of 1
