One of the Autodelta cars, this 33/2 Daytona was fitted by the factory with the larger, 2.5 litre V8 engine. It was raced by the works team in 1968 at Daytona, the Nürburgring and in the Targa Florio. Late in the season it was driven to victory at Mugello by Lucien Bianchi, Nanni Galli and Nino Vaccarella. Like many of the factory cars, chassis '015' was sold to Team VDS. They raced the car, with the 2.5 litre engine still fitted, at many of the 1969 season's major events but unfortunately with a sixth at Spa as the best result.

In 1970 the lovely Alfa was acquired by a Portuguese amateur racer, who campaigned the car in his country's former colony Angola for several more years. It remained in Africa, until it was discovered per chance by a French collector. He managed to get hold of the car for little more than some spare cash, a moped, a JVC video recorder and a spare Ford Cortina engine. After clearing customs, which took another two years, the car was airlifted to France by a Hercules cargo plane.

The new owner did not have the time or will to restore the car and he eventually offered it at auction in 1994. The new Italian owner did have the car fully restored to its 1968 configuration. Once the work was completed, in the early 2000s, he briefly raced it in historic events before selling it to an American collector. Also an avid historic racer, he campaigned the car at events like the Monterey Historics and the Le Mans Classic. In 2001, he entrusted the car to Simon Kidston, who had also been involved in the 1994 auction and once again duly found a new owner.
