Chassis:
The second of three Lotus 29s built, this is the car crashed in practice by Dan Gurney in the 1963 Indy 500. Fitted with the new quad-cam V8, it was raced twice more with a fourth for Al Miller in 1965 as the best result. Restored to its original configuration, complete with push-rod V8, the car is today on display in the fabulous Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. In 2012, it was demonstrated at both the Goodwood Festival of Speed and the Revival, where Dan Gurney was the featured driver. At the Revival, John Surtees was behind the wheel for all three demo runs.
