Ordered by Oracle CEO Larry Ellison, chassis 062 was one of the very few McLaren F1s delivered new to the United States. As a result, it holds all the necessary certificates to be road registered in California. Ellison retained the car for over a decade before passing it on to another enthusiast. In 2010, chassis 062 was offered at the Gooding & Co. Pebble Beach auction. Having covered less than 3,500 miles, it sold for a formidable $3.6 million. Two years later, it participated in the McLaren F1 20th Anniversary Tour.
