Chassis:
One of two revised and lighter F310B built towards the end of the year, chassis 179 was first tried by Michael Schumacher in practice for the Belgian Grand Prix. He felt more comfortable in the original car and switched to his back-up for the qualifying and the race. Eddie Irvine then raced the car in the Italian and Austrian Grands Prix with an eighth at Monza as the best result. Ferrari sold the car in 1999 and it has since been regularly used in events organised by Ferrari's F1 Clienti department. Now in American hands, it has been consigned to RM Auctions' November 21st Art of the Automobile sale where it is estimated to change hands for $750,000 - $950,000.
