Chassis 804-02 was one of the two cars entered in the season opening Dutch Grand Prix. It was driven by Gurney until his gear-linkage broke on lap 47. He also used it for the very unfortunate Monaco Grand Prix. The remainder of the season Bonnier piloted the car. His best result was a 6th in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. In 1964 Porsche sold the car directly to Tom Wheatcroft in the condition that it had finished the 1962 US Grand Prix. To this day it remains absolutely original but like all of the Donnington Grand Prix Collection cars, it starts on the button. It is pictured here at the 2009 Retromobile show where it was displayed prominently on the Hall & Hall stand.
