Chassis:
First shown at the 1949 Paris Motor Show, this T26 Grand Sport was clothed by Franay with a convertible body. The car was subsequently shown at numerous concours d'elegance. During this period, the nose was modified several times. In its initial guise, it sported a tall grille with integral driving lights. A second version of this grille with a wider centre section later appeared. A full-width, egg-crate grilled was fitted late in 1951 or early in 1952. After its lengthy spell on the concours trail, it was eventually sold to a French enthusiast. Following a spell in the United States, it was acquired by Austrian Egon Zweimüller in partly dismantled condition. During the next 20 years, Zweimüller gradually restored the car to its 1951 configuration. The final push came in 2010, when the car was acquired by an Austrian collector. It has since been shown at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este.
