In the hands of the Works team, this 6C 3000 CM was raced at the 1953 Mille Miglia and later that year by Juan Manuel Fangio and Onofre Marimon at Le Mans. Not much later an accident damaged the Colli designed and built Coupe body and the chassis was rebodied by Zagato with a Spider body. In 1954 the 6C 3000 CM was sold to Swedish racing ace Joakim Bonnier. He raced the car extensively up until 1956 in both his native country and Great Britain.

Retaining its Zagato body and painted in striking Swedish racing colours, chassis '00125' is seen above during the 2005 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, where Alfa Romeo was the featured marque.
