Chassis:
Sold new to Dutch nobleman Jonkheer Johannes A.G. Sandberg of Wassenaar, this Phantom III was clothed by Voll & Ruhrbeck. It was highly unusual in this time of political unrest for a Rolls-Royce to be bodied by a German company and it is understood that this four-door cabriolet remains strictly a one-off. The car is understood to have remained in the Netherlands throughout the War. It was discovered as the British forces moved through Europe and during the following years, it was owned by a succession of army officers. In 1964, it was acquired by American Roger S. McCormick, who would own the car until 2010. During this period, this unique Phantom III was lovingly restored and shown at a select number of events.
