Chassis:
One of a pair of Lola Group 7 cars built early in 1969. These included most of the upgrades of the T163 but crucially not the tall rear wing. The car's early history is a little confusing but it may have been used by Brook Doran during the 1969 season but may also have served as the semi-works entry for Chuck Parsons at the start of the season. Before upgrading to a T163, Parsons finished fifth and third in a T162. Now owned by Monte Shelton, the car resurfaced in 1972 with a heavily modified body. In this guise, it was raced with little success in select rounds of the Can-Am series in 1972 and 1973. Still boasting its uprated body, it has more recently been campaigned in historic events by the current owner.
