Chassis:
Sold to Llyod 'Lucky' Casner's Camoradi team, this was the third Tipo 63 built by Maserati. It was entered for the 1961 Sebring 12 Hours for Stirling Moss, Graham Hill, Masten Gregory and Casner himself. Moss and Hill did not enjoy driving the new car at all and switched to one of Camoradi's front-engined Birdcages instead. The Tipo 63 did start the race but retired early with a suspension failure. A disgruntled Casner shipped the car back to Maserati and it was not raced again. Stripped off its engine, it was sold to the Netherlands where it was fitted with an Alfa Romeo, 1.3-litre four cylinder engine. By the mid-1980s, it was acquired by a Swiss enthusiast, who had it meticulously rebuilt and fitted with a correct Maserati engine.
