Chassis:
Entered for Ludovico Scarfiotti and Gerhard Mitter, this was the second Porsche 908 LH entered for the Monza 1000 km. Although it was a handful to drive at high speeds, it was fourth fastest in qualifying. The German/Italian pairing eventually ended the race a delayed 11th. A month later it was brought out for the Spa 1000 km, where it served as a T-car only. It was retired from contemporary racing along with the other early 908s, immediately after. The car was disassembled and, in 1970, sold to Hans-Dieter Dechent, who famously ran the Martini Racing Team. The car was rebuilt and then acquired by Gérard Larrousse in 1971. He retained the car through to 2014 when it was acquired by Ronald Hughes and subsequently passed to Claudio Roddaro. Restored to full running order, it was then raced with considerable success in historic events. In 2018, it was sold to a Paris-based Porsche enthusiast.
