Chassis:
Completed early in 1961, this Giulietta SZ was acquired new by 1957 500cc motorcycle World Champion Libero Liberati. Fielded for him by Scuderia Ambrosiana, he raced the car until his fatal motorcycle crash in 1962. During the 1980s, the car was found by the late Martin Swig in The Netherlands. A great enthusiast of Alfa Romeos and the founder of the California Mille, he had the car brought to the United States. In 1997, it was acquired by another American collector, who had this round tail Giulietta SZ restored in 2005. It was subsequently shown at Pebble Beach and regularly raced in the Monterey Motorsports Reunion.
