Chassis:
In November of 1964, this Lotus 30 was delivered to Lotus's East Coast distributor Duchess Auto. Its first contemporary outings came at the Nassau Speed week where it was raced by Newton B. Davis with little success. It was then raced at select events throughout the 1965 season but contemporary sources suggest the car was more for show at parties than actually intended for racing. As such, it was always maintained in display condition. In 1979, it was repatriated by Alex Seldon and raced with considerable success in historic events. After a subsequent owner raced it some more, it disappeared completely in 1981. In a rather derelict but complete condition, it was found in 1999 somewhere in California. In 2002, it was one of the stars of the Retromobile show where it was offered by French dealer Galerie des Damiers. It has since been restored by Belgian specialist and former Le Mans racer Bernard de Dryver. In more recent years, it has been regularly raced in historic events by its current, Belgian owner.
