Chassis:
Chassis 2275985 was one of five cars built for the 1975 IMSA Championship where they were raced with great success. The cars were raced by the likes of Sam Posey, Hans Stuck, Brian Redman, Ronnie Peterson and David Hobbs. This car was one of a pair entered in the Sebring 12 Hours, where the sister car scored an outright victory. Retained by BMW of North America, it has been restored to its 1975 Sebring 12 Hours configuration. Since then it has not only been displayed but also raced at historic events in North America, usually driven by current BMW of North America CEO Ludwig Willisch.
