Chassis:
Built for the 1963 New York and Los Angeles Auto Show, this is one of just 19 DB5 Convertibles finished with left hand drive. As it was intended to star on the show floor, it was finished to a higher standard than regular production models with fittings from the Lagonda Rapide and polished aluminium instead of painted parts inside the engine compartment. Chassis 1253 was acquired direct from the Los Angeles show floor by retired Admiral Robert Miller. He would own the car for three decades, until his death in 1993. The current custodian acquired the car in 2013 and had it subsequently restored to its original, very high standard by Paul Russell & Co. It was then shown at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where it was awarded best in class.
