Chassis:
One of the very last Lister sports cars built, this 'Costin' was sold new to American sports car racer John Edgar. It was originally fitted with a Maserati 450S V8 engine but it is believed to have never been raced in this guise. The engine was removed before the car was sold on to Don Whitz in 1960. It was then fitted with a very hot Chevrolet V8 from a drag racer. It was raced like this for several years before it was acquired by British historic racer John Harper. He campaigned the car during the early 1970s and after changing hands several times more, it joined the stable of American Lister enthusiast Syd Silverman. At that time, it was damaged and fitted with a Jaguar engine. Silvernan had John Harden restore the car using original body panels that had been fitted on a chassis that had originally been fitted with a Knobbly style body. A Chevrolet small-block engine was also fitted. In the early 2010s, the car was sold to another American enthusiast, who has campaigned the car with various configurations of the small block engine. For the 2016 season, he had the car fitted with separate intake scoops for the four carburettor, which had been fitted to the car when it was raced in period.
