Chassis:
The third and final 1512 F1 built, this car was not pressed into service until the very last round of the 1965 World Championship. Chassis 0009 made its debut in the Italian Grand Prix at Monza where John Surtees qualified second but eventually was forced to retire halfway through the race with a clutch failure. The car was then entrusted to Lorenzo Bandini for the American and Mexican Grands Prix, where the young Italian finished fourth and eighth respectively. Rendered obsolete by extensive rule changes, the 1512 F1 was retired from contemporary racing at the end of 1965. Having not run since then, it was owned for many years by noted racing car collector Jacques Setton. Still in completely original condition, it was the centrepiece of a lovely line-up of Ferrari single seaters during the 2017 Retromobile show.
