Chassis:
Completed in 1969 as part of the homologation run, this car was updated to 'K' specification for the 1970 season. It was not raced again that year but instead sold to Solar Productions for the movie Le Mans. For this purpose, it was finished in Gulf colours. Following its movie duties, the car was sold on to Reinhold Joest, who raced the car during the 1971 season, primarily with Willi Kauhsen as his co-driver. The best result was a fourth in the 1000km race at Spa Francorchamps. Joest retained the car after its contemporary racing career, before selling it on to Brian Redman in 1975. He only owned the car for a few years and the next custodian was none other than 1970 Le Mans winner Richard Attwood. He campaigned the car at various events, first in Gulf colours and later in the livery of 'his' 1970 Le Mans winning car. It was sold at auction in 2000 by Attwood and then joined Jerry Seinfeld's impressive Porsche collection in 2002.
