Chassis:
Delivered new to car dealer and accomplished racer Frank Sytner, this car was raced extensively in the 1983 and 1984 British and European Touring Car Championships. Sytner then it brought it to New Zeeland where it was raced by him and new owner John Morton under the flag of Johnstone BMW. They finished second overall in the 1985 Nissan 500 on the streets of Wellington. Morton continued to race the car through to 1987, sharing it at times with ace racer Jim Richards. Following its contemporary racing career, chassis RA1-22 remained in New Zeeland for another three decades. In 1990 already, it was restored back to its 1985 Nissan 500 colours. Finally sold back to Europe in 2016, it was rebuilt where necessary for historic racing but remains in highly original condition.
