The first of three Elva GT160s built, this car was raced in period by Anglian Racing. Fielded for Richard Wrottesley and Tony Lanfranchi, the car was entered in the 1965 Nürburgring 1000 km and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. A gear-selector issue prompted an early retirement at the former while a series of mechanical issues ruled the car out of Le Mans. Today the first Elva GT160 is part of a world class American collection and was brought out for the 2011 Monterey Motorsport Reunion where Janos Wimpffen's excellent Elva book was launched.
