Chassis:
The first of six 342 Americas built, chassis 0232AL is the only one dispatched to coach builder Vignale. At Vignale, it was fitted with a unique Cabriolet body before being delivered to its first owner, Odofranco 'Otto' Wild from Switzerland. He was a great enthusiast and an early collector of European bespoke coach built cars. Like so many Ferraris of this era, it was sold to the United States. In this case during the late 1950s or early 1960s. In 1971, it became part of the collection of Norman Snart, who would go on to own the car through to 2004. During these three decades, it was only rarely seen in public. It changed hands again, and was comprehensively restored to a striking white and metallic green livery. Not shown at a major event yet and with just 210 miles on the odometer since the restoration, it was consigned to the 2017 RM Sotheby's Monterey sale.
