Chassis:
Chassis 46533 was ordered new by Victor Rotschild, who was based in London, England. British master coach-builder Freestone & Webb created a beautiful four-door Sports Saloon for the Type 46 chassis. The elegant body was complemented by very swooping fenders. After changing hands several times, the eight cylinder Bugatti joined the stable of noted collector Dr. Peter Williamson in 1971. It was fully restored over the next years. Dr. Williamson retained the car until his death in 2008. In August of that year chassis 46533 was offered in Gooding's Pebble Beach auction together with many other Bugattis from the collection. Offered without a reserve and with a part of the proceeds going to charity, it sold for $440,000.
