Chassis:
Fitted with the Cabriolet B factory body, this car was delivered new to the British Mercedes-Benz distributor to be displayed at the 1937 London Motor Show. Shortly after its show duties, it was acquired by its first owner, Sir Leonard Lyle. A wealthy industrialist, Baron Lyle was also a keen sportsman and the Chairman of Proefessional Golfers association. He eventually sold the car and it disappeared from sight. Having benefited to from a specialist restoration, it finally returned to the public eye in the late 2000s when it was offered for sale in Spain. In October of 2017, it was consigned to the Mercedes-Benz by Artcurial auction.
