Chassis:
Completed early in 1974, Carrera RS was sold new to SONAUTO, which was France's Porsche distributor. As effectively a works entry, the car was then fielded for Guy Chasseuil in the 1974 French Rally Championship. He won the Group 3 class and also scored a class win in the Tour de France. The car was sold at the end of the year to Anny-Charlotte Verney, who drove the car to second in class in the 1975 24 Hours of Le Mans. Although changing hands several more times, it was raced through to the 1982 season. Between 1982 and 2016, it was part of the collection of Philippe Aunay, who regularly raced the car in the Tour Auto retrospective. Still in French hands, this highly original example with 115,000 km on the odometer changed hands once more in February of 2016.
