Chassis:
Built to the M471 or Lightweight specification, this 911 Carrera RS 2.7 was completed in April of 1973. Finished in Tangerine, it was delivered new to German enthusiast Hans-Werner Schwab-Pepperhoff. By the late 1970s or early 1980s, he decided to have the car re-painted white, which was a more common colour for this model. Schwab-Pepperhoff then placed the car in his private museum for around a decade. When he set about recommissioning the car, it was leaking oil. Thanks to his close association with the Porsche family and the racing department, Schwab-Pepperhoff could have the engine rebuilt by the latter. He finally sold the car in 1999 when it moved to the United Kingdom. Some years later, it was restored to its original Tangerine colours. In 2008, it was acquired by Jamiroquai singer Jay Kay, who had the car fastidiously maintained by specialists Maxted-Page. Late in 2019, the car was entrusted to Bonhams for the blue ribband Bond Street sale along with two other cars from the Jay Kay collection.
