Chassis:
This is the Kremer K8 prototype, built around the tub from 962 CK6 chassis 07. Finished in the legendary Gulf colours, it was raced to sixth in the 1994 24 Hours of Le Mans. After the race the car was returned to Kremer, who in turn sold it to Franz Konrad. Sporting number '00', he entered the car in all the great endurance races in 1995. His entry at Le Mans was unfortunately not accepted. He tried to enter again in 1998 but failed to prequalify. Throughout 1999, chassis 07SP was raced in the SportsRacing World Cup by Dutchman Bert Ploeg with no notable results.
At the end of the car's long career, it was bought back by Project 100's chairman and restored to its original specification. In its Le Mans guise, it was driven through the streets of St. Albans by Robin Donovan and his wife after their April 2005 nuptials. The first Kremer K8 has since been acquired by a German Collector. On behalf of the current owner, it was driven by Gunnar Jeannette in the 2009 Monterey Historic Races. He won the spectacular IMSA GTP class, beating a packed field of Porsche 962s.
