Europe's Group 7 counterpart to Can-Am was the 'Interseries', which could not match Can-Am for appeal and money, but still boasted a wide variety of machines. One of these was the featured M8E, raced by Team VDS in 1971. In some races the team used a Turbocharged Chevrolet V8, but with little success. For the 1973 season, the car was sold to Kaye Griffiths and uprated with the M8D style 'Batmobile' body. In 1974 the car was sponsored by Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham, which resulted in the striking paintjob the car still bears today. Griffiths recorded several podium finishes that season before selling the car. The subsequent history is not known. It is seen here at the 2007 Monterey Historic Automobile Races.
