Chassis:
Handled by Holman & Moody, this Ford GT40 Mk II was raced in the three major long distance races in 1966; Daytona, Sebring and Le Mans. Its best result was a third in the historic 24 Hours of Le Mans where it was driven by Americans Ronnie Bucknum and Dick Hutcherson. In 1967 it was pressed back into action for the Daytona 24 Hours and the Le Mans Test where Mark Donohue and 1966 winner Bruce McLaren set the 5th fastest time. Since then chassis 1016 has been restored to its striking gold and Day-Glo livery used at Le Mans in 1966. Today it is owned by a Swiss enthusiast, who regularly exercises the Mk II; he has not missed a Le Mans Classic with the car since 2004.
