Chassis:
Chassis 021 was the only Cisitalia 202 that received a Cabriolet body that was designed and built by Pinin Farina. All subsequent Cabriolets following this style were constructed by Stabilimenti Farina or Vignale with Pinin Farina concentrating on the fixed head version. There is no actual proof but it is believed that the unique machine was owned by Argentinian president Juan Peron and his famous wife Evita. The car was certainly in Argentinian hands early in its life before coming to Europe after a spell in the United States.
In Dutch ownership, the 202 Cabriolet received a cosmetic restoration during the late 1990s. Between 2002 and 2003, the engine and drive-train were also completely overhauled. This whole process was repeated once again a few years later by Forza Service, who executed a meticulous restoration. In stunning condition, it was offered in the inaugural RM Auctions Sporting Classics of Monaco sale. Chassis 021 found a new owner for a commendable 212.800 Euro.
