Chassis:
Chassis M6A/1 was the M6 prototype and subsequently served as Bruce McLaren's personal racing car. Compared to the subsequent M6A and M6B chassis, the prototype featured a 4-inch shorter wheelbase. McLaren raced the car to two victories and clinched his first title, beating his team-mate by three points. It was subsequently sold to Jerry Hansen, who struggled to finish a race in 1968. His best result was a 7th. Today the car has been completely restored to its original specification and this historically significant McLaren was part of the Mathews Collection for many years. Now in new ownership it has returned to racing and chassis M6A/1 is seen here in action during the 2011 Monterey Pre-Reunion.
