Chassis:
Featured is the first of the two aluminium Mk6s and competed at Le Mans in 1963. Driven by David Hobbs and Richard Attwood, it failed to finish due to an accident. It subsequently served as a test vehicle for the Ford GT40 project. After its retirement from active duty, chassis LGT/1 was stored, partly built, for many years. It was eventually restored in 2000 and 2001 to its original Le Mans specification for its new Japanese owner. Three years later it returned to Le Mans to compete in the Le Mans Classic where it is pictured above.
