Chassis:
Originally one of the Scuderia Ferrari competition cars, chassis 412007 was fitted with this Spider body by Alfa Romeo themselves after its racing career. It was subsequently shown at the Milan Motor Show and eventually sold to a gentleman in London. Its third owner was Tony Crook, later of Bristol fame, who used the car on the road during the final years of the War. The car subsequently became part of the Tommy Lee collection, which featured many exotics including several other 8C Alfa Romeos. It was later disassembled with the chassis and body separated from the chassis. In the early 1980s the remains were traced down by noted Alfa Romeo 8C historian Simon Moore and he had the car restored to its former Alfa Spider configuration. He has since used the car extensively and in 2010 showed the unique 8C 2900A Spider at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance where Alfa Romeo's centenary was celebrated.
