Featured is an exceptionally rare Fleetwood bodied Tipo 8A S. It is an exact copy of the car ordered by Valentino, which awed the crowds at the 1926 New York Auto Salon. Reportedly the finished product was worth around $25,000 US, but Valentino never took delivery of his car, because he passed away before it was completed. Subsequently the featured 8A S and a Mercedes-Benz were given a similar body. Little is known about the car's contemporary history, other than that it resurfaced in the 1980s. Today it is in excellent shape after it received a thorough, body-off restoration by RM Auto Restorations.
Easily identifiable as one of the two Fleetwood Roadster by its Cobra mascot and V-shaped window, it is pictured here at the first Canadian Concours d'Elegance, which was held in 2004.
