In the first half of the twentieth century, Harrington primarily built specialized vehicles, but also high-end coachwork on chassis from the likes of Bugatti and Bentley. In the 1950s the advent of fibreglass opened new opportunities for the company based on the south coast of England. Harrington received universal fame and acclaim for the fiberglass 'fastback' conversions for British sportscars like the Sunbeam Tiger.
