The IMSA XJR-14 was a fantastic little car but it was designed for the smooth European high speed circuits and being so compact had no space for modification to accomodate changes needed for American tracks. It's two victories were at tracks similar to those in Europe but when contested on others was hopeless. The two shunts were caused by the wheels not being able to take the G loads. Even Tony Dowe admitted that the -14 was at the limit of development when the season started where the Toyota Eagle mk III was getting better every race and still had development room when the series was cancelled.
It's a rare car though that could be raced in three guises (XJR-14, Mazda and WSC-95). Quite an adaptive chassis.
 Spectacular!

That has to be one of the most awe inspiring machines I've seen in a long time! I cannot wait to see it in action at the FoS!
