The P126 is not mention as having been used in the 1968 Tasman Series. There was a 2 car team with Bruce McLaren and Pedro Rodriquez. Although the Series was a 2.5 litre capacity formula, BRM developed an engine to go down the road of a new car, P133, for the following F1 campaign.
Bruce won the Teretonga GP, beating Jim Clark, and finished 6th in the championship, Pedro being 1 place behind him.
They admit that they developed the P126 having seen the success that Bruce had in his McLaren M5A with BRM V12 engine fitted, in 1967.
