An electric three-wheeled truck...coming complete with its own portable petrol powered generator. Brilliant.

i guess electric motors (good torque band) can provide better real life performance and energy consumption. There are losses too though, and its probably like driving a milkfloat.
An excellent idea. I wonder if it was deliberate :)
If the owner only uses it for short journeys then no need to carry aroudn all the recharging guff but when long journey desired then toss the genny in the back and go :)
More sensible than carrying the engine all the time :D
Wonder what the performance is - speed and loaded weight.

Top speed 80kms/h... not much but still nice for the type of vehicle :)
Being able to register it as a moped is awesome though. And nobody needs to know if the limiters somehow creeped back up to 80 :)
In my town there is about ten of these things. The local government uses them for small maintenance to the green. Ideal for it's purpose.

Same in Eindhoven. What I like most of it is that when you're in a park or something, you don't hear some annoying diesel pick-up drive around. You just hear a little zoom when you stand next to it.

Indeed ! They are also very handy to drive over the pavement and stuff.
A college that I live by uses little electric cars (not these) to do landscaping work and patrol the area.
This hybrid vehicle reminds me of a Daihatsu Midget. :D
It should be good for it's designed job though.
