Great job there! I had the job of cleaning 110k+miles of grime from an engine bay once, I can tell you, it ain't easy!:D Just had to clean 22,000miles of road grime from an alloy wheel today, now it looks like new.

Only three more to go. They aren't wire wheels are they?

It'd look classy.
Or atleast better than 20" chromes.

Not quite... They're a damn nuisence to clean though, I only needed to clean one because the rest are still on the car, I was cleaning the spare. Dad had a puncture in the rear offside, put the spare (same as all the other wheels) got 3 new tyres as the fronts were bald and he wanted the rears to have the same tread, the one I cleaned was the old rear offside, now the spare.
They're 17" 16-spoke.

I've had the gti for a couple of weeks now, and I fixed it up a bit and cleaned it like a madman. But as this is my first car I experienced that when you are a bit of a driving noob , youre better of with something less powerfull:D thus the cliché is right I guess :o
I always feel the need to put my foot down, afterwards I always regret that:o hope this idiotic behaviour goes away in time.
gonna try and take some better pics before I probably crash it :D

If you already feel bad, then it will go away- I know plenty of people who don't have that restraint, or conscience... one such guy killed his girlfriend via dangerous driving about 300 yards away from my house. Not pleasant. Always serves as a reminder that life is precious, so be careful.
I did my amature-isch best :) ....
everything has been cleaned and synthetics have been treated with a special product...
in the 5th pic U can see my mum's car in which I had to drive before I got mine:p . Dunno why people ( and Jeremy Clarkson :p )claim that vectra's are so bad, there quite allright as a daily driver and I personally think the engine is brilliant.
in the looks department it might be undercatered a bit , but I think its better looking than for example the latest Bangle BWM monsters:cool:
there also quite rare here;) certainly in this perticular color :D
6 th picture shows tell-tale signs of high speeds i guess , its also like that on the windshield :(
I hit 200 kph on the airfield just a while ago:o ,
still has some rpm to go in 5th, absolutely sick experience:D

Says Mr. LeadRightFoot:rolleyes:
And Ripper, the car looks fantastic, I was riding alongside a really wrinkly old lady sat really low down looking through the steeringwheel of a Mk3 GTI 16V identical to yours, wheels, colour.. and then the traffic cleared and she flew!
its not so clean anymore either :(
its covered in dust and flies
btw , in the 6th picture you can see the chips in the paint , does anyone have some expierence when it comes to sorting that out?
and does anyone have any experience with the installment of an OEM airco system? could I get it over with on a budget of about 1000 euros/ USD.
... guess not:o I was thinking about it , but I keep thinking about the added weight and the costs  also thought about electric windows, and a stereo upgrade, as much OEM as possible.
realistically i'll probably only get to the stereo upgrade:)
Ive had the GTI for over a month now , and I still havent crashed it
I have cleaned it some more under the hood , polished the intake , and fitted an original 16v badge, more is to come...:)
slammed...:p
