the psone gave me the most entertainment, console wise. it just had so many fun games aswell as the classics like tomb raider and MGS. The good old classic gaming days where I sat with my dad in the living room until the early hours of the morning getting to the next level :)
Aah yes. I am sure all of us who played MGS can remember the laser on Metal Gear :p
I loved to hide in the boxes on MGS :D
I love PC games. I love console games.
What I really hate is PC-bores. Seriously. If you've EVER installed 3D benchmarking programs with the intention of telling ANYONE what the results are, you really need to get a grip. I really can't stand this 'my "spec" is bigger than your "spec"' mentality.
You forgot the main point of 3D benchmarking softwares: they compare the performance between hardwares. Without those results I really can't make my decision on what to buy, plus it's also nice to see how much your PC have improved after an upgrade and to see if anything's bottlenecking.
I intend to tell people how my new hardwares compare to my old hardwares so I can acknowledge them how much performance one thing is over another, especially for those who are planning to purchase.
Those people who love their e-penis often submit to benchmark rankings on various forums, which I've never did but I was accused of being the same kind of people just because I own the hardwares.
Another thing is telling people specs. Just by telling others what I have, especially when some of my hardwares are high-end, I get labeled one that loves his e-penis. I mean, it's just as much as going on forums showing off your new car. It's those who complain that really need to stop criticizing everything.
"Hey I just got this new car! (pic)"
"Congrats! I like it!"
"Hey I just got my new video card! (pic)"
"Your old one didn't give you a long enough e-penis?"
That's exactly what happens. Even when it comes to those who compete with benchmarks, I just ignore them and move on, no need to criticize as long as they're not bothering me.
-
PC's are nice but upgrades like a video card are expensive.
So I stick with consoles until I get the $ to build a computer.
Don't forget Gran Turismo 1-2.
I remember my Playstation experience, I started with Need For Speed V-Rally and then I chipped it and was able to get tons of games from a relative who had a cd burner.... ah... memories.
me too, except i had the cd burner so i either got copied games from all over the place or copied my own, i still have hundreds upon hundreds of ps1 games. I just never have the guts to sell them since i enjoyed them so much. I loved a game called street racer :p basically mario cart of ps1 but you could really blow up your team mates.;)

I have to admit I was never really into console's. Stuff like DOS coding and the original NFS had more influence on me back in the days.
And still I love DOS, because it works so much better than XP :D

I enjoyed playing World Cup 98, even though the secret was to choose the French team to win the whole thing. I nearly won with the US team, though.

Not gonna be anymore. The problem is that competing manufacturers agreed to raise prices altogether, especially in the video card and memory departments. ATi and nVidia were heading for a lawsuit for duopoly, and here's why memory prices were so high just a few months ago. Now you can get 2GB of decent DDR2-800 memory for sub $100, and it doesn't stop there, expect them to drop below that. :)
Oh and also the 8800GTS 320MB is going for about $250 in some reputable stores at the moment and Intel price drop is coming tomorrow so you can build a decent gaming PC for less than $1k.
For example:

That's $953 for a semi-high-end PC.

Lol that's Rock alright. :D

I think the problem here is that its not a specific PC gaming or modifying forum. I'm pretty sure about 80% of the users here are console gamers at most.
On another note, is anyone getting enemy territory: quake wars?

That's exactly why UK users jumped on me as soon as I put a couple 8800GTS's up for sale. Lol.
