Rhd Vs Lhd
Guys, this might not make sense, but we'll discuss this in a manner that totally disputes personal prefferances and we'll only discuss this scientifically, with in sights. The world is full of watches with crowns on the right, hence people wear them on their left hands, and adjusting the time on the watch using a right hand while wearing it on the left, but we tend to take off our watches more than we dial them, hence upon taking them off from our wrists, both hads are available to adjusting the crown. So why most of the watches we had, are designed for left hands whilst there are many left handers out there.
Hence, please give some thoughts and research on this, who started with it? Do the horse carriages back in the 18th century already travelled in the way Germany's traffic direction goes now? Or is there some sort of scientific explanation behind? Who made the first car, and which side is it? Perhaps we might have a good discussion here.
WHICH SIDE SHOULD THE STEERING WHEEL BE ? Left or Right? And please list the country you're from and which side you drive from.

right, having your stronger hand on the wheel makes more sense. the only people who use LHD were those who's ancestors were conquered by Napolean. People used to drive their carriages on the left side of the road on the right hand side of their carriage, because they could wield their sword against on-coming traffic easier or something. Napolean was left handed, so forced everyone he conquered to drive on the other side of the road.
hence, LHD people are complete pansies. :D

Even left handed people agree - having a better grip on the gearshift helps to create smoother shifts, saving fuel and reducing mechanical damage.

However, those conquered by Napoleans secretly still use their RIGHT foot to accelerate, hence symbolizing their inner will that their freedom, their future stills lies on the RIGHT side.
Not driving using the RIGHT side, is the WRONG side. :)

I'm used to drive a LHD car, therefeore I prefer those. But if it was the other way round I wouldn't have any problem either.

Having driven both for extended periods of time, I can live with both. I honestly couldn't give two tosses!

Agree on all accountsabove.
90% give or take 10%.. Of the world is right sided, It's only smart to give that dominate side more control, With RHD your right hand never leaves the wheel, Those that are right handed with LHD cars might stick there right hand on the wheel and drive while resting the left arm.
But i'm sure people could go both ways after some practice, Like Left foot braking it becomes natural.
It would be easier if the whole world drove on the same side of the road and same side of the car, Sometimes LHD and RHD gets in the way of getting great cars to some country's (Ford Oz;))

Given the majority of people are right handed and the majority of cars are automatic (probably) I'd say it makes more logical sense to use your right (generally main) hand to steer and your left to adjust the radio. Or change gears if you have a real transmission.

- on the track I run RHD for better weight-distribution in corners......On the road I prefere LHD for all the paying-stations in Norway.......Driving my RHD Escort with 6 point harness by my self through one of them is a pain.......:)

I can understand the hassle with the paying stations and your six point harness.. But I really don't feel sorry for you Dag:D
It's probably the price you have to pay to be a hard-core Escort fan like you:p
I also agree with you with the better weight-distribution with RHD on the track..
It's my only track experience until now.. So we'll see how it goes with the Alfa..:rolleyes:

Sorry, i don't understand on the weight distribution difference! (Although i secretly enjoy listening to the fact that RHD had the upper hand) WHY ? ? !?
