Right, thanks, it looks like a lot of research is still needed to find out what is what. Are you looking in particular for the LeMans participants or also for the earliers Lenhams?

So in fact my quest was about the Lenham entered in 76 Le Mans race !
This ugly car was built by José Thibault, a little "garagiste" from Chateauroux, and the question is : What was the basis. It could be one of the 5 Darnval built (the first one was on a Lenham basis) or it could be on a Lenham basis (i dont know how many Lenham sportscar were built (5 or 6 i presume), if it is a Lenham, my quest is how this chassis came in France ! I did find the adress of José Thibault and i try to know how he got this chassis to built this ugliest car of Le Mans. Also, we dont know where is this car now.
What i know :
Darnval built the LM1 (for Leuchere-Mausset) using a Lenham chassis
Then they built 4 cars in France.
The LM2 was never finished
The LM3 with a repco engines was in fact a Lenham (they just put a Darnval sticker on it).
For Lenham, i know the blue and the red coupé and know the red open seater. Maybe one of these cars was entered in Le Mans (1970 with Libert and Calcutt but it was a refused entry), 1972 DNQ and 1976 (29 laps);
The engine of the ugly car was a FVC 1800. And the Le Mans registration show that the car was a 1973 chassis (that is that Thibault write for the scruteeneering).
this one is for sale :

I have finally worked out how to use a computer! I am a close friend of the Hurst family (Rogers widow and her children) and I have the exclusive rights to the Lenham Hurst range of cars including all of the original chassis records, drawings, jigs and moulds and produce genuine spares for these cars. They should not be confused with 'Lenham Sportscars' - another firm entirely! In fact I have seen some Lenham Hurst cars sporting the 'Lenham Sportscars' logo on their nose!! I have created a register of all known Lenham Hurst cars so if you would like to get in touch please do so at

Hi Peter
Have you had any responses for the register?

I went to a garage at Harrietsham(A20) Kent about 15yrs ago to look at a MGB. Turned out it was the Lenham place, which I remembered from the 50s/60s. I think the original garage is still there. One of those local garages with petrol pumps who were a real assett to real motorists and loved their sporting cars.

Oh Dear! in the 1976-77 Autocourse review of Le Mans, Robert Fearnall wrote about the entry"....2 Litre section contained four Chevrons, three Lolas, a Cheetah and an absurdly slow Lenham"

I am pretty sure this is a Spridget-based Lenham GT, does anyone know for sure or know anything more? I really like its lines.
